Who am I?

I am Paula Cashmore. Mother of four grown daughters, all of whom have been home educated. We started our home education journey in 1994 and have had experience of many styles of home ed. The two older girls were withdrawn from infant school to begin their home education and the two younger girls have never been enrolled in school for any of their compulsory education. I have a combined total of 50+ years home education experience. During that time we have used curriculum packs, autonomous education, correspondence courses, CD-ROMs, Internet and workbooks from charity shops. My children have achieved O’Levels, GCSEs, A’Levels, BTecs, and NVQs . Each of them are now successfully following their chosen paths post 16.

• Beth is a PALS officer in the NHS.
• Georgina has enjoyed a career as a nanny both in England and France. She is now studying for a Bsc in child psychology and family studies.
• Johanna has completed an NVQ and is a trainee zoo-keeper.
• Nicole is studying A’Levels at a local further education college.

As part of our own Home Ed Success, I have been an advisor to local education authorities whilst regional co-ordinator for Education Otherwise, and am still active in running local meetings for home educated children and their families. Having completed my own children’s home education successfully, I have a wealth of information to offer other parents to enable them to achieve their own Home Ed Success.
